Angela Blythe from Tryst Models in New York City wants to put Violet on a plane and whisk her into the world of high-heeled boots and oversized sunglasses. Tall, skinny Violet, who’s been P-L-A-I-N practically forever.
And guess what? She’s going.
Overall:
Violet Greenfield is a nobody. That is, until she is noticed by Angela Blythe of Tryst models. As soon as Angela sees Violet she knows that she could be the next big thing for Tryst.
Violet is offered the chance of a lifetime: to go to New York and walk in fashion week. Once that is done she figures that she will just go back to Carolina and continue with her life but then she gets an even bigger shock. Angela wants her to graduate early and move to New York to become a model full-time.
Violet easily gets swept up into all the glamor and glitz of modeling but it doesn’t last long. She starts to see the side effects of modeling in her roommate Veronica Trask who has more than one bad habit just to keep herself going in the day-to-day world of modeling.
Will Violet be able to stay true to herself in the fake world of modeling or will she become the next Veronica Trask? Will Violet be able to keep her true friends or will she lose them to all the gold diggers who just want her fame?
Definitely a good book but it started out a little slow. Once you get past her first modeling trip the book seems to move at a faster pace. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the series.
