I don’t know why I waited so long to read this. For some odd reason I have been putting it off and I finally just decided it was time to read it. I am so glad that I decided that. It was a spectacular book and I really did enjoy it.
Frankie Landau-Banks was a great heroine, the kind every book should have. She was strong and she believed in what she could do when no one else did, not even her own family. She was always underestimated and the whole story was her attempt to prove everyone wrong about her. In the end, she definitely did that and she did it in some wonderfully amusing ways!
It did take me a little while longer than I expected to get into the story but once I did I couldn’t stop reading. The only thing that I didn’t really like was the character development. It seemed like Frankie was the only character we got any background info about and I especially wanted to know more about Alpha and Matthew. Both of their relationships with Frankie were just kind of odd to me and left me with some questions. Other than that I can’t find anything to complain about. =]
One thing I will say is that the end was not at all what I was expecting. I wasn’t sure I was really satisfied with it at first but after thinking it over, it was the best way to end things. I felt sad for Frankie about some things but at the same time, those things also made her a stronger, better person. I really did love her character!
Overall, The Disreputable History Of Frankie Landau-Banks was a wonderful book. Once you start it, you won’t want to put it down so I definitely recommend finding yourself a copy and setting aside some time to just sit and read.

I’ve been waffling back and forth on whether or not to read this since it won the Cybils award last year. Maybe it’s time for me to pick it up.
I also loved this book, and I felt the same way at the end. I was almost finished and I was thinking, it can’t end like this, but now that I look back I think it was the right ending. I wouldn’t mind another Frankie book. Anyone who has not read it should.

I agree. I wanted to know more about the alpha and Frankie relationship. I thought that the encounter at the beach was a bit pointless yet it was an incredible book.
