I am so excited for 2013.  I think it’s going to be another fabulous year for young adult and I’m eager to jump into all the books!  Here are the top 13 books being published in 2013 that are on my wishlist.

#1 Final Divergent book by Veronica Roth

The ending of Insurgent was pretty killer.  I cannot wait to see where the story is going to go in the final book.  (Also, I can’t wait for the title and cover!)

#2 Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

Stephanie Perkins’ books are some of my all-time favorites and while I was sad that this book wasn’t published this year, I have a feeling the wait is going to be worth it.

#3 Gates of Paradise (Blue Bloods #7) by Melissa de la Cruz

The Blue Bloods series is one of my favorite vampire series’ out there and the end of the series promises to be pretty epic.

#4 Clockwork Princess (Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

I really hope this is the final book in the Infernal Devices trilogy because I don’t think I can stand the wait for any more books.  I want to know exactly how the story ends, how everything ties together, and how everyone gets their happy endings.  Cassandra Clare and Simon & Schuster better not decide to add another three books to this trilogy like they did with The Mortal Instruments.

#5 Boundless (Unearthly #3) by Cynthia Hand

My heart was broken in Hallowed and I need it to be fixed with Boundless.  I’m dying to know what happens and who Clara ends up with! (Team Tucker!!)

#6 This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith

I completely adored The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and from the cover and summary, this one should be just as fabulous.

#7 Things I Can’t Forget by Miranda Kenneally

I have become such a Miranda Kenneally fangirl.  I’m currently plotting how to get my hands on an early copy of this one because I’m not sure I can wait much longer!

#8 Catherine by April Lindner

Jane by April Lindner is one of the best retellings I have ever read.  Catherine sounds like it will be just as fabulous and I have very high expectations for this one.

#9 Enders (Starters #2) by Lissa Price

I didn’t expect to love Starters as much as I did but I was hooked by that story.  It’s a duology (as far as I know) so I’m excited to see how everything is going to end in Enders.

#10 Siege & Storm (Grisha #2) by Leigh Bardugo

Shadow & Bone made it on my top 12 list of 2012 and it’s definitely on my list of all-time favorites as well.  The ending wasn’t a major cliffhanger but I loved the world and the story so much that I just want to dive back in.

#11 The Originals by Cat Patrick

Cat Patrick has surprised me with both of her books.  They are suspenseful, fun, the characters are relatable, and they both have pretty awesome romances.  The Originals sounds like it’s going to be just as suspenseful as her previous two and I’m very much looking forward to reading it.

#12 The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan

Okay so my inner cover whore is shining through with this pick.  I honestly want to read this one because the cover is absolutely gorgeous.  The cover designers outdid themselves with this book.

#13 The Hero’s Guide to Storming the Castle by Christopher Healy

The Hero’s Guide to Saving the Kingdom was the first middle grade book I reviewed here on Katie’s Book Blog and it was a great book to start with.  It was fun, light, and had a happy ending.  I couldn’t stop laughing while reading and it left me with a smile on my face.  I have a feeling the sequel is going to be the same way.
