This December I am once again hosting some of my favorite bloggers here on Katie’s Book Blog.  I asked them to pick a few of their favorite books from 2013 and their one most anticipated book of 2014.

Today I have Liza from WhoRuBlog!

book cover of Reclaimed by Sarah Guillory

Best Debut

Reclaimed by Sarah Guillory

RECLAIMED left me speechless, awed by an unexpected plot unlike anything I have ever read.

book cover of Boy Nobody by Allen Zadoff

Best Start of Series

Boy Nobody by Allen Zadoff

Boy Nobody is a fast-paced, heart-pounding thriller YA novel, which reminds me of Matt Damon and the Bourne Identity. Fascinating, fabulous characters and NYC setting. Lots of intrigue, twists, turns and who did it?

Best Series Finale

Champion (Legend #3) by Marie Lu

Brilliant writing and a satisfactory ending!

Sentinel (Covenant #5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Ohhhhh what an ending!!!! You’ll hold your breath until you read the very last pages. An outstanding series that brings Greek mythology to life with a modern twist.

book cover of Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller

Best Standalone

Where the Stars Still Shine by Trish Doller

Astonishing, breathtaking. Deeply moving. I can’t say enough about how incredible I thought this novel was. It’s one of those books you may want to read twice, just to take it all in.

book cover of The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

Best Unexpected Favorite

The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black

Mention blood, and I get woozy. Mention needles, and there is a chance I’ll need to get horizontal before I pass out. But for some glorious reason, I wasn’t bothered one bit from all the blood and gore and even needles mentioned in THE COLDEST GIRL IN COLDTOWN. It’s an unexpected and gripping vampire novel!!
book cover of Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Best All Around

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

It is the best of the best – incredible characters, incredible dialogue, heartfelt, heart-wrenching story, despicable parents and awesome parents. I can’t say enough about this book.
Most Anticipated 2014 Release!
book cover of Dreams of Gods and Monsters by Laini Taylor

Dreams of Gods & Monsters (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #3) by Laini Taylor
The series end of DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE. Can’t wait to find out how this series ends.
What do you guys think of Liza’s choices?  Have you read any of them?  Do you agree with her about any of them?
Make sure to check back tomorrow for the next blogger’s picks!
