Short Story: Things About Love

Things About Love is set in the world of As You Wish. If you haven’t read As You Wish, you might be a little confused but it’s not too bad. You’ll get the gist of things pretty quickly. However, there just wasn’t enough time to make this short story really interesting or appeal to me.

Juliet and Lawrence were odd characters. Juliet was on earth to discover the truth about love. Lawrence was just her excuse to be there. They were an odd pair and I couldn’t really see them as friends especially since Juliet was rather annoying. She was supremely naïve and it really got on my nerves. I understand she’s not from earth but she just seemed dumb. Maybe other people won’t feel that way about her but that’s how it was for me. I liked Lawrence but I felt like I couldn’t really connect to him in such a short period of time.

The story was cute but predictable. There was nothing unexpected about it. I saw every last thing coming from a mile away. That’s another reason I just didn’t care for this story. I wanted something to surprise me and it just didn’t.

Overall, this is my least favorite story from this anthology so far. It was cute but just lacking in too many ways.
